FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The #1 frequently asked question is "How much are wedding videos?"

The answer is "we don't know."   No really, we don’t know --- because it all depends on you!  Did you call the florist and say "How much are flowers?" or go to the jewelry store and ask "How much are wedding rings?"  The answer all depends on what you want.

The same holds true for wedding videos.

There are two main factors in determining the price of a wedding video.

First, what style of coverage do you like? We offer two styles, Documentary and Cinematic. View clips of each style further down in this section.  Many more samples available by appointment.

Secondly, how many hours of coverage will you need? We can begin at the Rehearsal / Dinner or on the wedding day at the Bride’s Preparations.  Perhaps you prefer that we begin at the ceremony. Coverage at the reception may end after the formalities (parent dances and garter/bouquet toss) or extend through the last dance.

So, how much are wedding videos? It’s entirely up to you but we’re here to help, so please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll figure it out together!

What is the difference between Documentary Style and Cinematic Style?

Will there be bright lights on the video cameras?

We normally work without any additional light because our cameras are very sensitive to low light.  If we do need additional light for a particular scene, we will use a 10 watt light.

Can I get photos from my video?

YES!  We can create photos from your video!!!  We call them videographs.  Click here for samples.

What if it's windy at my outdoor ceremony -- will the vows be heard?

"Sound is half of the whole." This is very true in video production.  We use several mic sources (all hidden, of course) to bring you the clearest audio possible.  You will never know there was any wind at all.

Do I really need two video cameras with operators?

Two cameras with operators provide a much higher likelihood of a smooth finished video since this is a "one-take" event and unplanned incidents often occur.  An unmanned camera is "locked down" and a photographer, guest or wedding party member may block that camera's view at times.

Also, tripod legs stick out and if the tripod can be knocked askew by the foot of a passing guest, it will be.  If we've found a good viewpoint, the photographer may like it also and stand directly in front of an unmanned camera.

Another consideration:  the camera would likely be set up when the room is empty, however when the guests are all standing, what will the camera see?  An unwritten rule of events:  the tallest guest will sit or stand directly in front of an unmanned camera.

The following clip clearly shows the importance of 2 cameras.

Consider this:  If you have a single camera shoot and the situation in this next clip takes place, pulling footage from another angle would not be an option.

DON'T HIRE VIDEO EXCELLENCE FOR YOUR WEDDING IF:

You shop by price.

You like cheesey special effects. (ie, cartoon style animations)

You believe your friend or relative can shoot your video. (you wont mind if 90% of the video is your cousin’s baby, right?)

You like big cameras and bright lights. (we’re sure the guests wont mind either)

You want one stop vendor shopping (video, dj, photos).  Ever hear the phrase "jack of all trades, master at none"?

You think that bad composition, shakey footage, or bad lighting are ok. (See #1)

You don’t care if the audio is horrendous and you can’t hear the vows. (See #1)

You want an in-camera edit.  The wedding day is just the beginning.  We devote approximately 30 hours of editing to each wedding video AFTER the wedding day has ended.

You‘ll remember everything that happened the day of your wedding, even the moments that you didn’t witness -- like the cocktail hour!

You like ‘fire hose’ video. (continuous slow panning back and forth .... yawn)
